Catalog of Obscure and Obsolete File Formats (COOFF)

since I first had computer I’ve always been fascinated with computer storage and how files are saved I remember saving files in M$ Paint and reopening them in Notepad and being completely perplexed about how and image could be saved as "text".
As I grew older and "more smart" I learned exactly how it was done but unlike explaining a magic trick it only added to the astonishment and I became even more interested in data. and as so through my life I’ve tried to document seeming complex information in a nice package. my phone is full of spreadsheets with formulas in almost every cell to compute simple things from groceries to power draw of a power supply to how much it costs to manufacture the latest gadget. and so brings me to this page, I you bring this page to document my ongoing love for data in a lovely catalogue form. recently I’ve been emulating a lot of old games from my child hood and I decided to pick up where my 9yr old self began, and relay try to understand the workings of the files.
